So the lesson here... DON'T GIVE UP MOMS! All of your hard work will pay off, even if it takes months to see the fruit! :-)

Mommy Encouragement
Moms experience different seasons with their children. There are seasons where I feel like hitting my head against a wall because I feel like nothing I am teaching my children is sinking in. Then there are seasons where I see the fruits of all my labor. Today I entered one of the fruitful seasons. Jordan started saying please today. I have tried for months to get her to say please and she just wouldn't. But today... today was the day and I can't help but smile every time I hear the sweet word leave her mouth. It comes out more like "bease," but that makes it even better! It was just the encouragement I needed! The other encouraging, monumental, super exciting event of the day, actually night, was Luke sleeping through the night for the first time! Nothing lifts a mommy's spirits more than eight hours of uninterrupted sleep! Oh yes my friends!!! Two and a half months of trying to teach him healthy sleeping and eating habits has paid off!

Baby Hudson
As some of you may know, my sweet nephew Hudson was born on Thursday. Hudson has a condition called Spina Bifida. He had surgery Friday to close an opening in his spinal column. While the surgery was successful and went very well, there are still many unknowns. The big unknown right now is whether or not he will need a shunt. We are hoping and praying not. There is a surgery scheduled for Thursday because signs are pointing to him needing one, but I know that God is bigger than any doctors opinion or the norm. Not to say that just because I am praying for it, God will eliminate the need for one. I know that God has a reason for everything He does and it is all for His purposes, which are bigger than we know.
But little boy... no matter what happens, you have a family that is going to love you, care for you, encourage you, and pray for you all the days of your life. God has given you the most amazing and strong parents. Parents that I am amazed by because they seem to have been specially equipped to be your mom and dad. And of course your Uncle Sean and I love you so much and will be there for you when ever you need us!
Just know that you are so loved!

Jordan Language
Jordan is at the best age! We hear new words coming from her sweet little mouth everyday! Sometimes she says things over and over again and we have no idea what it is that she is trying to say, like "do-shy." If anyone can tell me what that means, I would be in awe of your decoding skills! There are some words and phrases that we do understand. Here are some just for fun:
She says somethings very well, like stuck, sit, diaper, bye, daddy, steps, and a host of other things. The most shocking thing I think I have heard her say is "wait." After Sean asked her if she would like to read a book, she told him "wait," then she finished what she was doing. She catches us off guard sometimes.
I am going to miss these times of silliness when she is older!
dappes = grapes
ba-ty = bed time
baf = bath
but-ter = brother
oh-wite = alright
staps = straps
mats = milk
